Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

As you prepare for Christmas Day and the Christmas season, I pray that you are rejoicing in him even amidst the chaos of our world. Christ was born in politically uncertain and culturally confused times. Not so different from our own. As we consciously commune with him each day, his peace and perspective become our own, and we are able to experience joy despite the challenges confronting our nation and the world right now.

Last Sunday, we looked at the theme of “worshipping” as modelled by the magi “from the East” in the birth narrative of Jesus. They demonstrated through their reverent worship and lavish giving what it looks like to honor the Lord Jesus as King. If you haven’t yet seen Sunday’s service, you can watch it here, and you can access the slides and notes here.

I announced Sunday that we would have a short Christmas eve service at 4pm this Thursday, but I’ve made the difficult decision to not do it this year. I apologize to all you who were looking forward to the time, but I just wasn’t able to do everything I need to do to make it a quality event. Next year!

Our community group meets tonight, Dec 22:  from 7-8pm. All are invited! We meet on Zoom for prayer, fellowship and bible study. The link for the Zoom meeting is:

Just a reminder that we are, while our region is in “lock down”, keeping our masks on during the services out of love for others. The rest of our COVID safety precautions are given at the bottom of this email.

If you are unable to attend our in-person Sunday services, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link:

The passcode is: 0404

We will also record the service each week, so you can watch the recording later in the day or week. Email me and let me know if you want access to it, and Greg or I will send you the link after the service. It will also be posted on our website during next week.

Please continue to pray for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. The Lord is answering prayers and will continue!

May you feel his presence this Christmas season –
