Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

We will host a Zoom chat this Sunday at 4pm to discuss the official start of this new expression of the body of Christ in our city. You can easily join this meeting by clicking the link, below, or by accessing one of the several links on our church website: If you are praying about being a part of the church, please attend Sunday! It will give you an idea of the kind of church we believe God is calling us to become.

We won’t try to pull off a normal worship service this Sunday. We won’t sing worship songs, for example, so you may want to praise God musically earlier in the day using online or other digital resources. We will, of course, worship in other ways: through some prayers, readings, and through opening our hearts to God’s Word. But the prime focus of this inaugural gathering is to share the vision of this new church, so you can prayerfully evaluate whether God is calling you to be a part of it.

Our vision is simple. We will be a family of broken yet blessed people learning to live lives of adoring wonder before the face of our vast and inexpressibly beautiful God. In a world of frenetic activity and aimless diversion, we will learn to slow ourselves to live gently, reverently, deeply, with fierce intention. We will eschew simple platitudes and be schooled instead in that ancient wisdom which guided God’s people down through the centuries. And we will learn to walk more steadily in conscious, radiant fellowship with the blessed Holy Trinity—Father, Son and Spirit—who, out of the sheer abundance of their common life, invite us into an eternal embrace of infinite tenderness. In responsive gratitude, we want—as our letterhead suggests—to live by faith, grow in grace and walk in love.

Does that resonate with you? If so, come join us this Sunday at 4pm! And visit our website, where you can learn more about Holy Trinity’s calling, culture and beliefs. We will be posting new content over the ensuing days and weeks, so you may want to check back periodically. You can also give through our website, should the Lord lead you to support the work.

During this, the fourth week of Lent, may we all be gripped by a deepening sense of awe in the light of Christ’s inexpressible love for us, so clearly put on display through the events of Passion Week. March 29th is Passion Sunday: What a perfect time to begin a new work dedicated to His glory.

Sharing the wonder –
