Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

I hope you are well and delighting in the Lord despite the challenges we are all facing during this strange season. Life in a fallen world changes quickly, but He remains faithful and loving, regardless of what goes on around us. Let’s keep our eyes glued on Him.

Last Sunday we considered a few of my reflections on certain troubling trends in our culture. If you feel led by the Lord to do further research, you have quite a few resources listed in the message notes that you can explore on your own. If you want to listen to the service again, you can watch the recording here. The message slides, outline and notes are found here.

This Sunday we will return to our journey though the Letter to the Ephesians. Chapter two is one of the more remarkable passages in the bible in the way it details what our lives were like before and after meeting Jesus. This week will set the scene for the chapter and introduce us to three key themes that take us to the heart of God’s saving action in Christ. To join the 4pm service this Sunday, click here or on our website. As always, check into the Zoom chat room a little early to say your “Hellos” and get settled. Remember to bring your bible, the sermon outline, bread and wine/grape juice for Holy Communion.

We have two “take out, dine in” events planned for the month of October: Oct 15th and 29th. You can sign up for one of these beginning this Sunday following the service. Space is limited, so don’t wait too long.

Please note that our Community Group will not be meeting next Tuesday, the 6th, as Tom and Lynn will be on the coast with family. Our next Community Group meeting will be Monday, October 12th, from 7-8pm. We are about to begin chapter six of the Gospel of John. Here is the link to join in on Zoom for the evening.

Thank you for continuing to pray for those in the church that the Lord puts on your heart. A number are dealing with significant health issues and other challenges, and your prayers make a huge difference.

In the Father’s love –

Tom
