Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Blessings to you this thirteenth week of the Trinity Season. May you experience the power of the Father in your life this week—seeking Him wholeheartedly, resisting temptation, standing against the evil powers and serving others in the strength of God. This is the power that God makes available to us in Christ through His Spirit, according to Eph 1:19-23. If you didn’t catch the service, you can watch the recording here. The message, outline and notes are found here.

Having completed Chapter 1 of Ephesians last week, we will now take a break for a few weeks to look at some of the big issues we are facing as American’s in our day. This Sunday (and possibly the following week), we will tackle the issue of race relations. There are so many discordant voices speaking into the complex set of issues surrounding race today, that I thought it would be helpful to provide some scriptural guidelines, historical analysis and objective data to inform how we think about this hotly contested topic. Please download the message notes from our website prior to the service: you will definitely want them, because there is a lot of material. I plan to post them by Saturday night. To join the 4pm service this Sunday, click here or on our website. As always, check into the Zoom chat room a little early to say your “Hellos” and get settled. Remember to bring your bible, the sermon outline, bread and wine/grape juice for Holy Communion.

Please continue to pray for those in the church that the Lord puts on your heart. A number of us are dealing with significant health issues, with the grief of losing a loved one and/or with loneliness and discouragement during this time of restricted social interaction and heavy smoke. Our Lord is gracious and good, and He delights to answer our prayers.

In the Father’s great might –

Tom
