Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Forgive my long delay in getting the newsletter out this week!

Last Sunday, we took a backwards glance at 2020 and a look ahead to the coming year. While 2020 was filled with all sorts of challenges, each challenge gave an opportunity to trust God at a deeper level. And God has consistently shown that he is trustworthy and faithful in meeting our needs. If you didn’t make Sunday’s service, you can watch it here and can access the slides and notes here.

This Sunday, Brent Silberbauer will draw on the life of John the Baptist to teach us important lessons about how we are to respond when our lives take a sudden turn in an unexpected direction. I got to hear it yesterday. Trust me: you are in for a rich treat! If you are unable to attend our in-person Sunday services, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/99123315621?pwd=SzU3VFFYenVYdy9ENUdvWGFRaU9jZz09

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service each week, so you can watch the recording after it is posted later in the week, typically Tuesday or Wednesday.

If you are willing to occasionally help love on our adorable kids in children’s church, we would be grateful and you would be blessed! Please sign up on the calendar on our website or by using this link. No special skills are required. Our director, Lynn does all the planning and heavy lifting, you get to just love on them.

Thank you for you continued prayers for our country and for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. Please keep Ruthi Brock and Darryl especially in your prayers this week as she goes on hospice care for her cancer.

Our community group will meet as usual next Tuesday night, February 2, from 7-8pm. All are invited! We meet on Zoom for prayer, fellowship and bible study. The link for the Zoom meeting is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87449423015

May the wonder of God’s epiphany continue to confound you!

Tom
