Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Epiphany blessings to you as we near the season celebrating God’s revelation of himself to us the world in Christ! Last Sunday, we considered how God created us uniquely for face-to-face relationship with himself as well as meaningful vocation on earth and how, despite our many “turnings” from him along the way, he has never “turned” from us or given up on his purpose to have a large family of humans and elohim, spiritual beings, ruling over the restored earth in the future. If you haven’t yet seen Sunday’s service, you can watch it here, and you can access the slides and notes here.

Please be praying today and tomorrow for our nation. As you know, the critical Georgia senate runoff elections take place today, and tomorrow Congress meets to consider the electoral votes from each state, which will determine our next president. Evidence will be presented tomorrow regarding the widespread fraud that plagued November’s election. Please pray God would bring to light what is hidden in darkness and give courage, conviction and holy boldness to our elected officials to do everything necessary to expose evil and restore faith in America’s electoral process. Our national future hangs in the balance: this is the most consequential moment for America in our lifetime.

This Sunday and next, we will look in some detail at the unseen realm of spiritual beings God created and discuss their role in the history of human redemption. It’s a fascinating epic account of God’s dogged determination to be in eternal relationship with people of all nationalities and ethnicities! You won’t want to miss it as we delve into the obscure world of the elohim.

If you are unable to attend our in-person Sunday services, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link:

Thank you for you continued prayers for one another. Let’s keep loving each other well and praying for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges.

Finally, some of you are familiar with the excellent resource called the Bible Project. A bible scholar and illustrator have team up to produce short, quality videos on every book of the bible. They also have videos that address special themes in the scriptures and a one year bible reading plan that many of you would enjoy. Their material really is exceptional! Check them out:
