Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –
Blessings to you this twenty-first week following Pentecost!
Please get out your calendars and mark the following events:
- Fall festival – This Sunday, Oct 31, following the service. The event will feature games for the kids and a potluck lunch for all! If you want to sign up to bring food or help with a kid’s game, please contact Jen Silberbauer.
- Friendsgiving – 5pm Sunday, November 14. Enjoy an early Thanksgiving celebration with your church family. The main food items will be catered. Sign-ups for attendance and for bringing side dishes and desserts will be sent out next week.
- Christmas Eve service – December 24. A short, family centered celebration of the Nativity with music and the Christmas story, ending with a candlelight singing of “Silent Night.”
You’ll hear more details about these in the weeks to come. We hope everyone can join in!
Last Sunday, we took a second look at Colossians 3:12-14. This time, the focus was on the command to forgive one another. We learned that what forgiveness is and isn’t, why it’s so important and what steps we go through to get free of our past wounds and hurts. If you missed the message, you can check out the sermon outline and slides here and the recording here.
This Sunday, we’ll look a third time at this text and pay close attention to Paul’s command that we love one another. We will consider the unusual quality of agape-love in contrast to other loves, talk about two conditions for expressing it as well as three ways to grow in our ability to live it out. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/8310961120?pwd=VW1lRk1Wck9xWkFvK2FHanh2QmhEdz09
The passcode is the same as always: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted the following week.
If you are looking for a bible study where you can connect relationally and grow spiritually, we’d love to have you join us on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm at the church building.
