Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –
Blessings to you in Jesus’ name this eighteenth week following Pentecost. I hope you are enjoying his great goodness today as you trust in his salvation.
If you are able, please join us for a few hours Saturday, October 16 as we do some work around the church building. We will do various projects from 9 to 11:30am, at which time we’ll enjoy some pizza together before heading our separate ways. Let us know if you can make it so we can order accordingly. Sign up on the clipboard at the church. A link to an online signup will also be send to you.
Last Sunday, we looked at a rich, encouraging passage in Hebrews 10:19-25. The text explains what Jesus has accomplished for us and the boldness we can experience as a result of drawing near to God, holding tight to faith and encouraging each other to live lives that honor the Lord, characterized by love and good works. If you missed the message, you can check out the sermon outline and slides here and the recording here.
The previous Sunday, Brent preached on our need to constantly remind ourselves that God is with us, he loves us and he is sovereign over human affairs, so we can trust him to help us in all areas of life. This empowers us to walk in great boldness and faith rather than shrink back in fear. For those who missed it, you can find the sermon notes here and the recording here.
This Sunday, I will be sharing with you the concept of “spiritual pathways”: seven different ways that God often uses to connect us with him. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this new Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/8310961120?pwd=VW1lRk1Wck9xWkFvK2FHanh2QmhEdz09
The passcode is the same: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted the following week.
As always, please be sure to stay for a few minutes after the service to enjoy some coffee, snacks and fellowship. Thank you, Bishop family, for making this fellowship time possible!
If you are looking for a bible study where you can connect relationally and grow spiritually, we’d love to have you join us on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm at the church building. We pray, fellowship and study John’s Gospel. Currently, we are in John 15. We also have Zoom setup for those unable to meet in person. Please use this link.
We also have a prayer group that meets on Fridays at noon to pray for our nation, state, city and church and would love for you to join us! We are asking the Lord to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Join us at the church building from 12-1pm. All are welcome.
Finally, we would love to have your help in Kid’s Church when you are able. No special skills are needed: just a love for our kids. You can sign up by letting Lynn know or by using the calendar on our website. Here’s the link.

Please be in prayer particularly for Danielle Penne (leg procedure), Don Rogers (West Nile Virus), Keri Oliva (cancer), Laine Dahlberg (premature baby recovering from heart surgery), Nola Taylor (medical issues), Barbara Trimmer (medical issues), James Johnson (Cancer).
