Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus in the Spirit! As we approach Thanksgiving, I hope you are filled with joy as you recount his goodness to you in the midst of a very trying past year.

Please join us for our Friendsgiving celebration this Sunday evening at 5pm! Sign up online, where you can also sign up to bring a side dish, dessert, drink or rolls if you like: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F49A9AE2FAAF4C07-friendsgiving. The turkey, potatoes, stuffing and gravy will be catered, so we will enjoy great food and even better fellowship!

If you are interested in helping in some way with our upcoming Christmas Eve service (4pm on Friday, December 24), please see Tamie Beach right after the service this coming Sunday, Nov 14. She is coordinating this special family centered celebration of the Nativity with creative worship, music and the Christmas story, ending with a candlelight singing of “Silent Night.”

Anders Lundberg is organizing a clothing drive for low-income students at Neal Dow Elementary School. We will have a drop off place in the church lobby on Nov 21 and 28, so you can simply bring the clothes with you to drop off before one of those services. Size information and other details can be found here.

Ladies, if you are interested in attending Pricilla Shirer’s “Going Beyond” simulcast from 9am-3pm on Nov 20th, please contact Danielle Penne. Pricilla is an extraordinary communicator of God’s truth who will encourage and challenge you in your faith!

Last Sunday, we looked at Colossians 3:12-14 for one final time, unpacking the six relational graces mentioned in the text. If you missed the message, you can check out the sermon outline and slides here and the recording here.

This Sunday, we will again reverently examine God’s Word and ask his Spirit to inform our minds and shape our hearts into greater obedience and love. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link.

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted the following week.

If you are interested in adult baptism or child dedication, please connect with Tom via email or in person at one of our services.

If you are looking for a bible study where you can connect relationally and grow spiritually, we’d love to have you join us on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm at the church building. We pray, fellowship and study John’s Gospel. We are just about to begin John 17. We also have Zoom setup for those unable to meet in person. Please use the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82177078238

We also have a prayer group that meets on Fridays at noon to pray for our nation, state, city and church and would love for you to join us! We are asking the Lord to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Join us at the church building from 12-1pm. All are welcome.

Thanks so much for your continued prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. Please be in prayer particularly for Danielle Penne (healing for her leg, family losses), Craig and Sharon Anderson (illness), Don Rogers (on ventilator and dialysis), Keri Oliva (cancer), Laine Dahlberg (premature baby), Nola Taylor (hospice care), Barbara Trimmer (medical issues), James Johnson (cancer).

Ever thankful for God’s mercy –

Tom
