Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Blessings to you this third week of Lent! May you savor the gentleness and kindness of our Lord this Lenten season.

Men, plan to join us tomorrow night, March 16, at 6:30pm at the church building for our men’s gathering. We’ll have a panel of guys discussing common issues we face as husbands/dads/sons of God, then take some time to talk in smaller groups before calling it a night at 8pm.

Women, Danielle Penne will lead a 7-week video group on,“Discerning the Voice of God” using the Priscilla Shirer videos beginning April 25th. Mark your calendars and let her know if you plan to come!

Last Sunday, we continued our Lenten series on Jesus (Heb 2:14-18; 5:1-2; 4:14-16) and church tradition (considering the use of our bodies in worship). We learned that Jesus took up a human body to set us free from our entrapment to Satan’s power and the fear of death and to suffer the same temptations we face so he could be a sympathetic high priest. We also saw that God has given us bodies specifically designed for the purpose of knowing, loving and serving him. If you missed the service, you can access the notes and PowerPoint here and view the recording here:

This week, Craig will lead us in our Lenten reflections on the person, words and works of Jesus. For those unable to attend in person, be sure to tune in to our livestream at 9am Sunday morning at the following YouTube link We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted next week.

If you are looking for a bible study where you can connect relationally and grow spiritually, we’d love to have you join us on Tuesday nights as we study the book of Romans. We meet 7-8pm at the church building for prayer, fellowship and bible study. We also have Zoom setup for those unable to meet in person. Please use the following link

Has God been prompting you to pray more for our nation, state, city and His church? If so, come join us each Friday at the church building from 12-1pm. We are asking the Lord to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land.

Thanks so much for your continued prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. One of the great privileges we have is to hold each other up in prayer. Please be in prayer particularly for David Calkins (healing of foot), James Johnson (cancer), Keri Oliva (cancer), Kaylinn Hignell (cancer), Mark Spelts (death of best friend), Nola Taylor (hospice care), Jason, Carrie and Lily Krueger (loss of Carrie’s grandfather), Phil Larios (medical issues) and Barbara Trimmer (medical issues). Please pray also for an end to the bloodshed in Ukraine. Thank you!

In Lenten joy –
