Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

May the beauty of spring be a constant reminder to you of the new life given to us as a result of Jesus’ resurrection! And may you experience his beauty in the world around you.

Last Sunday was a special day, as several new guests joined us, many from the former Chico Bible Fellowship. In the message, we talked about Moses’ haggling with Yahweh, insisting that God remain “with” him and the people and not simply send an angel to lead the nation to the promised land. Moses loved God and didn’t want to go anywhere without him. And God honored his friend by living among the Israelites and giving Moses a jaw-dropping revelation of his own goodness. If you missed the message, you can access the recording here. (Please be aware that there is no audio for the first 5 minutes of the video.) Outline and slides can be found here.

This Sunday of Eastertide, we will continue looking at how we can learn to live “with God” more consistently during our day-to-day activities. We will look at a few verses from John 14 to orient us to the biblical underpinnings of living “with” God, then consider some practical suggestions for experiencing God more fully throughout the day. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link.

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Next Tuesday night from 7-8pm our community group will be meeting in person for the first time at the church building! Please join us, even if you haven’t yet attended previously. It’s a great time to share, pray and study God’s Word. We will also have Zoom setup for those unable meet in person. If you are free on Fridays at noon, we’d love to have you join us for a time of prayer for our nation, state, city and church. With our culture trending the way it is, nothing short of God’s mercy can save us from a bleak future. Our agenda is simple: we cry out to God to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Join us this Friday at the church building from 12-1pm.

Would you prayerfully consider helping love on our amazing kids one day a month in Kid’s church? You need no special training. Lynn does all the hard work, but we need other loving adults to make sure our children are well cared for. You can sign up on the calendar on our website or by using this link. Thanks so much for considering this!

Thank you for continuing to pray for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. Our Father hears every prayer and loves to answer them for the good of his people and the glory of his Son, Jesus.

May you and I and all things praise him!

Tom
