Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

During this week between Christ’s ascent on Ascension Day and the Spirit’s descent on Pentecost, I pray you are experiencing the fullness of the Father’s love. You are loved not because you are worthy. You are worthy because you are loved by the One who calls you his “Beloved.” Never forget that!

Last Sunday, Craig taught us from Acts 1 about this period of time in the lives of the first disciples. It was a season of expectant waiting, and it prepared them for the outpouring of the Spirit at the Feast of Pentecost. If you missed last Sunday, you can play the recording here. The outline and slides can be found here.

This Sunday following the service, the Bishop family will again treat us to some snacks out on the lawn. Please plan to stay a few minutes and enjoy the fellowship! It’s a great chance to make new friends and keep current on old relationships.

In the message this Sunday, Tom will explore four of the many ministries of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Spirit is sometimes called the “Cinderella of the Trinity” because he is often neglected when we think about our salvation. But the fact is, without the indwelling presence of the Spirit, we cannot be restored to the image of God/Christ. So, focusing on the Spirit’s work in us helps us better appreciate our astounding salvation and our response to God in turn. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/99123315621?pwd=SzU3VFFYenVYdy9ENUdvWGFRaU9jZz09

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted next Tuesday or Wednesday.

If you are free on Fridays at noon, we’d love to have you join us for a time of prayer for our nation, state, city and church! Our agenda is simple: we cry out to God to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. I hope you join us this Friday at the church building from 12-1pm. When the weather is nice, we circle our chairs on the church patio.

Also, we would love to have your help in Kid’s Church! We were blessed with twenty kids this last Sunday. No special skills are needed: just a love for our kids. You can sign up by letting Lynn know or by using the calendar on our website. Here’s the link.

Thanks so much for your prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. God loves it when we pray for each other, and he delights in responding to those prayers.

Yours in Pentecostal joy!

Tom
