Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Blessings to you this week following Pentecost! Aren’t you grateful to live in the period of salvation history when the Father and Son dwell in us in the Person of the Holy Spirit? What an astonishing claim and marvelous truth! Last Sunday, explored four of the many ministries of the Holy Spirit in our lives: guiding us with love and care, empowering us with spiritual gifts, attaching us to God in deep relationship and transforming us into the image of Jesus. If you missed last Sunday, you can play the recording here. The outline and slides can be found here.

This Sunday, May 30, we will get back to our exploration of the letter to the Ephesians. We’ll do an overview of the first six verses of chapter four this week and introduce the central focus of this text: guarding our unity as the body of Christ. The next Sunday, June 6, Brent will help us delve deeper into this critically important subject. If you are unable to attend either service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link:

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted the following week.

Our hearts go out to Karen and the whole Foster family as they grieve the passing of Bob last Sunday. In the midst of loss, they are comforted in knowing Bob is no longer in pain but with the Lord Jesus in glory. A memorial service will take place this coming Thursday, June 3, at 3pm at Newton-Bracewell.

This Sunday following the service, the Bishop family will again treat us to some coffee and snacks out on the lawn. Please plan to stay a few minutes and enjoy the fellowship! It’s a great chance to make new friends and keep current on old relationships. Thanks, Bishops: we so appreciate you serving us this way!

Come and join our bible study and fellowship time on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm at the church building! It’s a great time to share, pray for each other and study God’s Word, currently John 10. We will also have Zoom setup for those unable to meet in person. Please use the following link:

If you are free on Fridays at noon, we’d love to have you join us for a time of prayer for our nation, state, city and church! Our agenda is simple: we cry out to God to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. I hope you join us this Friday at the church building from 12-1pm. When the weather is nice, we circle our chairs on the church patio.

Also, we would love to have your help in Kid’s Church! No special skills are needed: just a love for our kids. You can sign up by letting Lynn know or by using the calendar on our website. Here’s the link.

Thanks so much for your prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. God loves it when we pray for each other, and he delights in responding to those prayers.
