Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Ascension Day is just over a week away! What a day of celebration, as Jesus returns to heaven to once again to share the glory and enjoy the face-to-face companionship of the Father. He also takes up his throne and fulfills his role as our high priest. It is a season in the Christian calendar that often gets overlooked but it shouldn’t, for it is just as central to our salvation as was Good Friday or Easter. We will explore these ideas this Sunday, and I hope you can join us either in person or online. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/99123315621?pwd=SzU3VFFYenVYdy9ENUdvWGFRaU9jZz09

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Plan to stay a few minutes after the service this week as the Bishop family again blesses us with a time of snacks, coffee and fellowship on the front lawn!

Last Sunday we considered a few verses from John 14 to orient us to the biblical underpinnings of living “with” God in our day-to-day lives. We then consider some practical suggestions for experiencing God more fully throughout the day. I hope that you are finding those suggestions helpful as you nurture your own walk with Christ. If you missed the message, you can access the recording here. Outline and slides can be found here.

If you are free on Fridays at noon, we’d love to have you join us for a time of prayer for our nation, state, city and church. Our agenda is simple: we cry out to God to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. I hope you join us this Friday at the church building from 12-1pm. When the weather is nice, we circle our chairs on the church patio.

Would you prayerfully consider helping love on our amazing kids one day a month in Kid’s church? You need no special training. Lynn does all the hard work, but we need other loving adults to make sure our children are well cared for. You can sign up on the calendar on our website or by using this link. Thanks so much for considering this!

Thank you for continuing to pray for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges!

In the love of the risen and ascended One!

Tom
