Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Blessings to you this seventh week of the Trinity season in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Last Sunday, we celebrated four child dedications (Maggie and Ava Johnston and Ava and Aiden Wilson) and, afterward, had a very special time of fellowship, food and fun for the kids as we said “goodbye” to the Johnston family. What a memorable day! Thank you, all of you who set up, brought food, and cleaned up afterward Thanks especially to Greg Wietbrock, for your expert grilling, and to Lauren Avilla and Lynn Mount for your “above and beyond the call of duty” behind-the-scenes work to make it all happen. Here’s some happy news: we may see the Johnston’s one last time this Sunday, as Ryan’s work is keeping them in Chico a little bit longer.

We finished our study of Romans 8 last Sunday by looking at verses 31-39. It catalogs Paul’s amazed response to God’s rich, multifaceted salvation and is a ringing affirmation of God’s ability to save all of us “to the uttermost.” Such an encouraging text! If you missed the service, you can view the recording here.

This Sunday, Craig will be teaching us from John 17 as we consider Jesus’ faithfulness to complete the Father’s commission and calling on his life. For those unable to attend in person, be sure to tune in to our livestream at 9am Sunday morning at the following YouTube link  As you know, we will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted next week.

Be sure to mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

  • Worship night next Wednesday, July 27, at the church building starting at 6:30pm and continuing until 7:30 or 8pm. Tamie Beach and Ashley Lundberg are organizing the event, and Craig Anderson will lead worship on his guitar. Come join us for a night of praise and extended adoration of our worthy Lord!
  • Fellowship time at Richardson Springs YWAM base on Sunday, August 7, from 3-7pm, complete with barbeque and swimming.

If God has been prompting you to pray more for his Church and for our nation, state and city, we’d love for you to join us on Fridays at the church building from 12-1pm. We are asking the Lord to bring repentance and new life, expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Come join us!

Thanks so much for your continued prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. Please be in prayer particularly for the Hignell family (death of Fred, the patriarch), Tom and Connie Vervoorn (displace due to a major house fire), Danielle Penne (constant pain and upcoming surgery), Lynne Waite (severe back pain), Emmett and Pat Jarvis (Louis’ dad [stage 4 cancer] and mom [dementia]), Phil Larios (medical issue), Tom Vervoorn (medical issue), Jackie Musselman (recovery from knee surgery), James Johnson (cancer and the death of his brother), Kaylinn Hignell (cancer), Ryan and Rosie Rogers (moving to Tennessee), Ryan and Bonnie Johnston (moving to Montana), Nola Taylor (hospice care) and Barbara Trimmer (medical issues). Please continue to for an end to the bloodshed in Ukraine and for God’s mercy in the upcoming mid-term elections. And pray for God to protect the lives of the unborn children in the face of the massive abortion industry. Thank you!

In the loving oneness of the Three –
