Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –
“I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well!” (3 John 2).
I hope you join us this Wednesday night, July 27, for live worship! We’ll begin at 6:30pm and run until 7:30 or 8pm, with Craig leading us on his guitar. Come for all or some of it: drink deep from God’s “river of delights” (Ps 36:8).
Last Sunday, Craig taught from John 17 about our Lord’s faithfulness in fulfilling the Father’s calling on his life and how we, too, can be faithful in fulfilling the calling passed on to us by Jesus. If you missed the service, you can view the recording here.
This Sunday, we will look at the shortest book of the New Testament: 2 John. The text was written as a follow up to 1 John and reinforces its key themes of holding fiercely to the truth of the Gospel and loving one another as Christ has commanded us. It also warns against the “antichrists” who are currently in the world, trying to deceive God’s people. For those unable to attend in person, be sure to tune in to our livestream at 9am Sunday morning at the following YouTube link https://youtu.be/iii46hzZmhU
As you know, we will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted next week.
Please plan to join the church for a special fellowship time at the Richardson Springs YWAM base on Sunday, August 7, from 3-7pm, complete with barbeque and swimming. The church will provide the meat, and the rest of us will all pitch in with side dishes, desserts, etc. A sign up in on the corner table in the sanctuary.
If God has been prompting you to pray more for his Church and for our nation, state and city, we’d love for you to join us on Fridays at the church building from 12-1pm. We are asking the Lord to bring repentance and new life, expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Come join us!
Thanks so much for your continued prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. Please be in prayer particularly for Tom and Connie Vervoorn (displaced due to a major house fire), Danielle Penne (constant pain and upcoming surgery), Lynne Waite (severe back pain), Emmett and Pat Jarvis (Louis’ dad [stage 4 cancer] and mom [dementia]), Phil Larios (medical issue), Tom Vervoorn (medical issue), Jackie Musselman (recovery from knee surgery), James Johnson (cancer and the death of his brother), Kaylinn Hignell (cancer), Nola Taylor (hospice care) and Barbara Trimmer (medical issues). Please continue to for an end to the bloodshed in Ukraine and for God’s mercy in the upcoming mid-term elections. And pray for God to protect the lives of the unborn children in the face of the massive abortion industry. Thank you!
Yours by his grace –
