Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Blessings to you this eighth week of the Trinity season. May you enter deeply into the love of the Father, the grace of the Son and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit each day this week.

I hope you join us this Sunday, August 7, at the Youth with a Mission base at Richardson Springs (off Cohasset Rd, after the airport) from 3-7pm for a time of fellowship, food and swimming. The church will provide the hot dogs, buns and condiments, and various families are providing salads, side dishes and desserts. If you didn’t get a chance to sign up and want to bring something, Carrie Krueger is coordinating things, so please give her a call or send a text. If you haven’t been to the base before, it is located at the end of Richardson Springs Rd. approximately 4 miles from the Cohasset turn off. Just before reaching the brick hotel, follow the signs to the pool down to the right. You might want to bring your own camp chair. There will be some shade available but you might also want to bring an umbrella.

Last Sunday, we looked at the shortest book of the New Testament: 2 John. The text was written as a follow up to 1 John and reinforces its key themes of holding fiercely to the truth of the Gospel and loving one another as Christ has commanded us. It also warns against the “antichrists” who are currently in the world, trying to deceive God’s people. If you missed the service, you can view the recording here.

This Sunday, Brent will be speaking to us about what God has to say on the topic of money. For those unable to attend in person, be sure to tune in to our livestream at 9am Sunday morning or watch the recording during the following week. The link is

If God has been prompting you to pray more for his Church and for our nation, state and city, we’d love for you to join us on Fridays at the church building from 12-1pm. We are asking the Lord to bring repentance and new life, expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Come join us!

Thanks so much for your continued prayers for those in our body who face health issues, losses, financial difficulties and other challenges. Please be in prayer particularly for Tom and Connie Vervoorn (displaced due to a major house fire), Danielle Penne (constant pain and upcoming surgery), Lynne Waite (severe back pain), Emmett and Pat Jarvis (Louis’ dad [stage 4 cancer] and mom [dementia]), Phil Larios (medical issue), Tom Vervoorn(medical issue), Jackie Musselman (recovery from knee surgery), James Johnson (cancerand the death of his brother), Kaylinn Hignell (cancer), Nola Taylor (hospice care), Bob (salvation) and Barb Brown (colitis) and Barbara Trimmer (medical issues).
