Dear friends of Holy Trinity Chico –

Blessings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Last Sunday, Craig opened up for us Paul’s marvelous teaching in Ephesians 6:14-20 on the defensive armor and offensive sword God has given us to engage in spiritual warfare each day. Paul argues that we have all that we need to “stand” up to the dark forces that operate in this world. For those of you who missed last Sunday, you can find the sermon outline and slides here and the recording here.

This Sunday, we draw our study of Ephesians to a close by considering Paul’s final thoughts and closing benediction in vv. 21-24. In these final verses, Paul reprises certain of the key themes that appear throughout the letter: peace, love, faith and grace. If you are unable to attend the service in person, please tune in at 9am using this Zoom link:

The passcode is: 0404. We will also record the service, so you can watch the recording after it is posted the following week.

As always, please be sure to stay for a few minutes after the service to enjoy some coffee, snacks and fellowship. Thanks, Bishop family, for making this possible for us!

If you are looking for a smaller group where you can connect and grow, you are welcome to join us on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm at the church building, where Tom leads a small group that meets for prayer, fellowship and bible study. We are going slowly through John’s Gospel and are currently in John 14. We also have Zoom setup for those unable to meet in person. Please use the following link:

Danielle Penne will be hosting a bible study for all interested women on Thursday nights from 6:30-8pm from September 9-October 21. The study will feature video teaching by Priscilla Shirer on the armor of God (Eph 6:10-20). Click here to see a 2-minute video clip: Armor of God Bible Study | Priscilla Shirer | Lifeway. You will need to purchase the study book which you can get here Armor of God Study book from Lifeway or here from Amazon: Armor of God. This study will be open to any woman who wants to attend, regardless of whether Holy Trinity is your home church.

We also have a prayer group that meets on Fridays at noon to pray for our nation, state, city and church and would love for you to join us! We are asking the Lord to expose evil, frustrate the plans of bad actors, raise up his church is strong, vocal faith and restore righteousness, integrity and love in our land. Join us at the church building from 12-1pm. All are welcome.

Finally, we would love to have your help in Kid’s Church when you are able. No special skills are needed: just a love for our kids. You can sign up by letting Lynn know or by using the calendar on our website. Here’s the link.
